#220: Holy Spirit, Bring on the Fruit! Week 8: Faithfulness
Faithfulness is remaining unfailing loyal.
The faith we want to talk about today is centered on belief.
Hebrews 11:1 says our faith is meant to be in things we hope for, not in the things we see (or don't see). We can trust in God's faithfulness and it helps us life like Him. Even when we can't see/feel it!
Faithfulness is not something we “will into existence.” Faithfulness is modeled first by God and then by us, as parents. When we are faithful, it shows our kids how to be faithful. When we affirm places our kids are faithful, it makes them want to continue to live faithful lives.
At the end of the day, we want our kids to walk with the Holy Spirit and live faithful to Him, not us - Him. Hopefully you’ve heard a few things that will empower you to point your family to God and start living faithful!
Here are a few main points:
- Faithfulness can relate to remaining loyal to the community around you
- Faithfulness is connected to faith - when we choose to trust God, we can live faithfully
- Walking in faithfulness is not about us, it's about looking at God
- Faithfulness requires sacrificial love
Luke 16:10 says, "one who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much."
